Don Hanlon Johnson (California Institute of Integral Studies) is professor of Somatics. He is the author of Body, Spirit and Democracy (Berkeley, CA: North Atlantic Books, 1994); Body: Recovering our Sensual Wisdom (Boston: Beacon Press, 1983; pb 1992); and The Protean Body (New York: Harper and Row, 1978). He is the editor of three collections of essays by founders of the field of Somatics, and author of several journal articles on the role of body practices in revisioning notions about education, healing, philosophy, and spirituality.
